Salt Lake City is a beautiful place, and we hope you have a wonderful time during your stay! October in Utah is vibrant with autumn leaves in the mountains and worth exploring if you have the time.
SLC and surrounding areas are easy to navigate by rental car or Uber/Lyft.
We recommend renting a car if you plan to travel up the canyons.

Downtown Salt Lake City is filled with options for dining, shopping, sightseeing and our favorite school, The University of Utah!
Utah's State Capitol Building is just north of downtown and has a gorgeous lawn overlooking the city- grab a few pizzas or sandwiches to go and have a picnic there!
Another popular and darling area is 9th and 9th district- here. you'll find a ton of local restaurants and shopping.

The Cottonwood Canyon resorts, also a short drive from downtown, are breathtakingly beautiful. Both canyons are located very close to our wedding venue and partner hotels. Snowbird, Alta, Brighton and Solitude offer views, hiking trails and more.
The Cliff Day Spa at Snowbird is perfect for relaxation with gorgeous mountain views (you can purchase a day pass!). Brighton and Alta offer hikes for everyone if you'd like to adventure outdoors.

Park City is a 25-minute drive from Salt Lake City (via I-80) and offers pretty views, shopping, dining and outdoor activities. Historic Main Street is always fun for an afternoon or evening outing in October! If the leaves are bright then be sure to go during the day!
If you want to eat, shop, or see somewhere specific, check their hours- some places consider October to be the off season between busy summer and winter.
